jUST read an article in Airliners.net that boeing has recieved an order for ONE B747-8 who wud be interested in only one new aircraft
is the commonality so similar to other 747s that there wud be zero additional in introducing this new type
any news and wat do u think it can be a private plane
Yes, I think many parts would be common with the 747-400. The 747-8 is actually a stretch model with a higher percentage of composites used. Check out this URL:

Click on the "Versatility" button on the left. The 'Commonality' section talks about similarities with 747-400 & 777.
The 747-8 is going to be launched in passenger and freight versions. So, it remains to be seen whether this order is for passenger or freighter.

well even airbus claims all its aircrafts ie A320 family A330 A340 and A380 are in commonality
but an airline has gotta spend hell on upgrading to a new aircrafts
