Those who are interested in knowing more about Jagson are requested to see their website. (locate via Google) I have strong reason to believe that many of the flights listed are not operating now. Our friends from Delhi may be able to say more about this.

And no schedule has been drawn up for the operations to begin. Even the aircraft Dornier 228, which was brought for the operations and stationed at Lawspet Airport, was taken back by the flight operators Jagson Airlines.
Personnel of the airport ticket booking counters and travel operators are also not able to give a proper reply on the commencement of regular flights.
People, who looked forward to this facility with great expectations, remain confused over the uncertainty.
It was expected that the commercial flights would start immediately as the government, with which the airline operator had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), had hurried with the inauguration while the model code for the local body elections was under enforcement .
They conducted a grand ceremony, in which the Chief Minister and the Tourism Minister had participated, only to facilitate the operator to begin the operations immediately.
However, the government failed to check all factors required for the operation of flights and the flights could not be resumed till now.
The regular flight operations were delayed initially as the security personnel for maintaining the airport security were not ready. The security men, who have been posted on deputation from the State police, are yet to be given training by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Training Station, Chennai. However, even with the completion of their training earlier in the week and posting in the airport, there is no news about starting the operations.
Now, another bottleneck has come in the way of the flight operations. The flight operators are required to depute only Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) personnel on duty for the aircraft at the various airports, from where they would be operation.
According to sources, the flight operators are not having adequate BCAS- trained personnel for deputing in airports on the route and they need to induct a few more personnel. Till then they would not be given the clearance from the Airports Authority of India to operate.
However, the operators assure that the regular flight operations would commence soon. “In a weeks’s time we should be starting the operations. Already we have short-listed a few personnel, whom we require, and the formalities would be completed in the next few days,” Vinod Kumar, Head, Business Development, Jagson Airlines Limited, told this website’s newspaper.
The aircraft, which was taken away, would be brought back, he said. “As 10-days time was required for the training of security personnel, the aircraft was withdrawn from Pondicherry Airport and used for chartered flights from other places,” he explained.
The regular flight operations were delayed initially as the personnel for maintaining the airport security were not ready.
New Delhi - Keeping an eye on tourism in the northeastern states and Himachal Pradesh, domestic carrier Jagson Airlines Wednesday launched two new Mi 172 helicopters.
These 26-passenger capacity copters would help tourists in the northeast and Himachal Pradesh, Jagson’s chief managing director J.P. Gupta told reporters here.
‘Apart from rescue and food dropping operations in difficult terrains, they will fulfil the demands of tourists in several states including those of the northeast.’
He said the airline is mooting a fleet expansion under which it will acquire 19 Airbus aircraft over the next three years. These flights will connect all the metros of the country.
Last week, the carrier started commercial operations from Pondicherry to several South Indian cities.
As you can see from the above stats, the ATR-42 is much faster, carries more and flies farther than the Dornier 228. In fact, these two aircraft are in a different league altogether and its not quite fair to compare them. Its like comparing a Boeing 777 with an Airbus A320 - two different category of aircraft.
However, I say that an ATR would be a better bet for Jagson as this would mean higher carrying capacity and a better range. In a thundersorm or turbulence, an ATR would hold its own better than the Dornier.
Dornier is definitely not a better machine in any way!! It is more suited for a very short haul flight or charter flights.
