Had a nice weekend planespotting at BOM. As I had mentioned earlier, I have found a nice vantage point from where you can see the action up close. In addition to the usual Jet-Sahara-Deccan-IA-Kingfisher routine, the more notable visitors were: UPS MD-11, Lufthansa Cargo - MD-11, Emirates A330-200, Saudi Arabian 747, Yemenia A310-300, DrukAir A320 & Korean Air Cargo 747-400F.
DABTH - the easiest is to get it from abroad (US/Germany etc.). I've bought mine from the UK, and another acquaintance in BLR bought his from the USA (Radio shack - Pro 83 for $65).
In India, I think there's something available at the Indus aviation store in Bangalore.
It's definitely much better to spot with a scanner, so you know in advance what's coming in and leaving.
BTW i had purchased an A380 model from Airbus Stores at HAM it is a real model of scale 1/400 and is in Airbus Sporting Colours (the current scheme they call as Airbus Sporting)
And it cost me 45 euros that is Rs2475 approx.

Okay i got a transciever as well this time around, i hold an ATPL and hold a RTR does that make me eligible to use a transciever or do i need to get a seperate license, since i guess the radios on the planes are covered by a seperate license... as they always say, pilots are the last to know anything
Again, any idea where does it say its legal to own a receiver/scanner. Would want to keep the documentation with me, considering the terror scares going on and 3 stupid people trying to drive into PMs house, the last thing i want is my license revoked and spend hours at chanakya puri police station trying to explain that i had no intention of flying a plane into a building. well.
