IAF’s first Presidential fleet review in January 2007
New Delhi, Dec 4 (UNI)

A spectacular air display by 100 aircraft, including fighters, will mark the Indian Air Force’s first ever fleet review by President A P J Abdul Kalam.
The show is scheduled to be held on January 7 over the skies of Chandigarh air force base and will be part of the IAF Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
‘‘We are planning to put up a bold show for our Supreme Commander’’, Air Chief SP Tyagi told PTI.
He said IAF had planned a fleet review for the President in 2001, but had to postpone it in the wake of devastation caused by the 2001 Bhuj Earthquake.
The show, according to top IAF officers, would comprise a spectacular fly past, aerobatic show by the frontline fighters, including Sukhoi-30MKI, Mirages, MIG-29 and other Mig variants.
The review would also include simulated air battles, live mid-air refuelling, paradropping as well as static display on the ground.
The President would be presented a 21 gun salute and take the salute at a ceremonial parade on the occasion.
Though the Navy has organised a Presidential fleet review for each incumbent during his tenure, this would be the first time that IAF would be holding a fleet review.

Will be a great occasion for spotting!!!
