I like the quietest of em all

A340-300. Doesnt matter whether it is powered by 4 hair-dryers or lawn-mowers.

As long as it takes me comfortably (and quietly) from A to B.

Wonder why people are so worked up about its (lack of) climb ability, or its "OMIGOSH" wing flex in turbulence.

I was once in an LH 744 on approach to SFO, and the pilot made a "quick descent" using spoilers, and I remember we took some really sharp and quick turns to line up. And the wing was 'fluttering'  away like a flag in the breeze.

Of course there wasnt the real flutter in aviation terms

While I am a poor student flying Y I like the 346' 2-4-2 layout as i prefer window seat so i only have one random dude sitting next to me as opposed to 2 ppl on 777 or 747.

I am also quite impressed by the sheer length of the 346. Its huuuuuggggeeee!!!!

Nothing beats the window seat of a good old 747-400.

I can tell you one thing for sure, my favorite without doubt is the A340-600, i havent flown on the 500 so i cant say... but when i flew from LHR to DEL on the 5th of last month, the take off was so so so smooth it was unbeleivable.

Further, our 8 hours flight was so darn smooth.. the seat belt sign didnt even come on ONCE during cruise. It was just amazing.

The A340 family really rocks.. looks great too..

The 777's are great but they are very bumpy...

747's are great.. but unfortunately these days they are the worst to be flying in economy because 99% of jumbos have the airlines oldest config which is just hell for pax.

Leg room decides my favourite.

In economy: B767

If in any other class, as long as I can stretch my legs, I don't care. Once inside, they are all the same. But the Airbus ones, for some reason, seem to be a lot smoother. But I don't like their window sizes-too small and funny shaped.

Embraer's economy and window size would be perfect on a long flight.

Embraer 170 it is. Nice aircraft-if only it could fly long-hauls. But then if it they would try to squeeze you in.

The Emb 195 helps in that way a bit.

A340/330 is good because of it's seat config. 2-4-2. 777 would be a close 2nd if in 2-5-2 config. Of course 747-4XX are cool too.

The most ideal config on long haul I saw was KLM's MD-11 2-4-3 .
