Do you on flights keep your mobile phone on:

A. Switched Off Mode.

B. Switched On Mode.

C. Flight Mode / Offline Mode.

(If A, please give a reason)

Thanks,

Long haul flights - always in switched OFF mode - but mainly to conserve battery life

Short haul flights - normally in OFF mode, except during landing/Takeoff where I love to see the different networks that the phone catches.

I switch off the phone just before boarding and switch it on only after leaving the a/c.

I switch it off because the Rule says so.........Although it has to be proved that Interference to Navigation systems exist from cell usage.

My cell phone remains OFF during flight as per the rules so that it doesn't cause any interference

There is reasonable doubt that Cell Phone Frequency Tx can affect Communication & Navigation Equipment/Instruments on Board an Airliner. But it has not been proved as yet.

But since the Rule Forbids its use.We stick to the Rule.

I usually switch it off after making one final call to family/friends after boarding the aircraft. I switch it on only after the aircraft arrives at the gate.

On this note, in Malaysia, they ask you to switch it off before entering the aircraft and switch it back on only after entering the terminal building.

So, it is different rules for different countries I guess!
