hey

no i dont think that would really work out. First of all, i live in chandigarh.. mailing from there is anyways enough.. and secondly, the models arnt with me. To cut out costs and to make them cheaper for all of you, we ship them directly from source.. aka hongkong.

They would have aleast een 10$ more expensive if they sent them to me and i sent them to you.

Hey guys

One more thing... i know its very early to say this but.... incase you guys want to buy from me.. and you do... and just incase you have any greviences... for anything.. i woudl appreciate it if you post something in public instead of emailing me in private.

Reason for this is that i want this to be totally transparent! Plus i think its important.

EG: Jumbo, if your model doesnt reach or like comes a month later.. i want you to sort it out with me over here...

thats just for example :)

A general question about shipping stuff to India - what about customs? Don't they open up these boxes coming in from HKG and add the customs duty on top?

Well let me tell you my experience.

the first time i bought stuff from the states, yes they did.. the delcared value was 120$ and they charged me some 1200 bucks duty on it. But that was using USPS. I have ordered from hkg ever since then and they use registered mail, and they customs dont seem to care two hoots about it. I have bought over 40 models from hkg. And never been charged duty.

I used to ask the shippers to declare the value a little less.. but then i ahve received good up to 100$ easily without customs duty. And more models should get covered in that much amount.

thats my experience.

Good to know. My experience has been with the big shippers like FedEx/UPS etc - and they have charged me duty - even for a really small and cheap item ($20 value - duty charged 800 Rupees!). I guess in that sense the smaller shippers are better at avoiding duty.

So far so good.

And as i said, It is better to deal with people who have vision, than with people who just have sight.

You seemed sincere to me and hence i felt like taking the plunge.

Regards and i wish you all the best.

BTW, You must offer some discounts to our forum member to encourage them to buy more from you. We know you and hence our loyalty to Dragon Wings.....

Hey guys:

You are in luck.. instead of waiting for the DW version of the AI 747, i have managed to locate 2 Herpa 1:500 models. These are good models and with great detail.

These were the first couple of models of AI 744's which came out. Price is 50$ and payment will be made to me instead of Mr. Ling and i would say give me at least a month AT MOST to deliver the model to u.

The photo can be seen on the Herpa Website www.herpa.de

Are you talking about this one.......

1500 Euros and if u convert it to USD $ then 1 EUR = 1.2712 USD

You can use the currency convertor at http://www.forex-markets.com/currency-converter.htm

Maalik the amount comes to about USD $ 19.07 max to max. Include $ 10 Of shipping would take it to $30 mere bhai......

Can you please explain the pricing.....and yes if you book in bulk i understand that you do get a certain discount, my friend.

Sorry, i could be misinformed and dont want u to feel prejudiced in any way

Dear bob:

Thanks for your feedback. I shall give you the breakup. It is listed as 15 euros on the Herpa Website and that is the price is was released at. If you go to diecastaircraftforum.com and check the price given is also roughly 19.0$. Again, that is just an average price paid for the model. The prices paid by people can very from as little as 12$ to 50$.

The thing is, i am not getting these models from hongkong, they are coming from Germany from a friend who has 2 in stock. Hence i posted this here. By no way will the price of the DW version be so expensive. This was merely illustrative and for those people who would :

1. Prefer Herpa (as some do)

2. Want the 1:500 size (since most collectors collect according to scale)

3. Want the model because the Herpa version is not easily available in India or in HKG for that matter.

I quoted the asking price of the person i was to purchse it from. And it is totally up to the person insterested in purchasing it if he wants to pay or not. Let me re-iterate the fact that i an NOT a wholesale dealer, and will NOT be getting better prices because i buy in bulk!

hope this clears things out

regards

nitin

I'll wait for your DW model only Chief.

This via via via business is scary anyways.

So u have 3 confirmed orders from me........

AF/KLM, The AI 787 and the AI 747.

Please see if u can get the Orbis from DW too.....

Hi A380:

well, to be honest, my collection consists of DW, Herpa, Phoenix, Blue Box, Schabak and gemini jets.

Herpa is very hard to find in india, the ones i have are bought onboard.

Phoenix is easily available but they are very limited.

Bluebox is good.. but they are not licenced by the airline.

Schabak.. till now has been CRAP! I bought an AI 747 onboard AI and the flag was in wrong colours. Plus it looks like it has a sticker on it instead of paint.

Gemini Jets is great! Very solid, but then again, you dont get many of them here.

I have lots of DW, first i thought they were some sidey chinese company. But once i got my first model, i was impressed. I think saurabh_101 had the same impression but his also changed once he got his first EK 773ER. Plus, DW makes LOTS of models.. so u are probably gonna find any kind of airline, aircraft, etc.

hope that helps

Hi Karan:

The KLM dual livery is 60$. The A320 GF is not available, nor is the A343 in old colours. However.. the 343 AND 332 is available in new colours (gold nose) and are 32$ each.

Do let me know if you are interested.
